Jón Björnsson is the CEO of Origo after assuming the position in August 2020.
Jón Björnsson has extensive experience in company management and transformation projects, both in Iceland and in Scandinavia. Most recently, Jón served as the CEO of Festi and Krónan since 2014, and he was previously the CEO of Magasin du Nord and Hagar since 2002. Jón serves on the boards of Boozt.com and Klappir Grænar Lausnir, among others.
Jón has a business administration degree from Rider University, New Jersey.
Managing Director, Human Resources
Dröfn Guðmundsdóttir is the Chief Human Resources Officer and joined Origo in February 2013.
Dröfn has a long track record in the field of human resources. She worked as Director of Education at Reykjavik Preschools and later as a human resources consultant at Reykjavik City’s Education Field following the merger of preschools and elementary schools from 2003-2007, as a human resources consultant for Straumur Investment Bank from 2007-2009, director of education at Arion Bank from 2009-2011 and worked as a human resources manager at the Financial Supervisory Authority (FME) from 2012-2013.
Dröfn graduated with a B.A. in psychology from the University of Iceland and went on to pursue post-graduate studies in psychology focusing on work and organizational psychology at the University of Giessen in Germany.
Gunnar was CFO for Iceland Express 2011- 2012 and CFO for Landic Property hf. 2006-2010. Earlier Gunnar worked as a Client Executive for HSH Nordbank AG in Copenhagen and as a specialist for Icebank hf. and VBS Investment Bank.
Gunnar holds a B.S.c in Finance and Economics from the University of Iceland, M.s.c in finance from Reykjavík University and is a licensed securities broker.
Managing Director, Business Development
Gunnar Zoëga is Managing Director of Business Development.
Gunnar joined TM Software in 2003 and has since held various positions, such as Head of Umsjá, Managing Director of Technology and Managing Director of Solutions and Service.
Gunnar holds a B.S. degree in Business and Computer Science from the University of South Carolina and in Systems Analysis from Reykjavik University.
Managing Director, Software Solutions
Hákon Sigurhansson is the Managing Director of Software Solutions. Mr. Sigurhansson has worked for the company since 2008, first as a CEO of EMR Healthcare Solutions and then as the head of the Healthcare Solutions unit at TM Software.
Before joining TM Software Hákon worked as consultant, as the Director of Sales, Product Management and Development at Trackwell Software and as Head of IT at the Ministry of Justice.
Hákon holds an MBA from the ESCP Business School in Paris and an MSc degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Aalborg, Denmark.
Managing Director, Business Solutions
Ingimar G. Bjarnason is the Managing Director of Business Solutions. Previously Ingimar served as the Managing Director of Applicon Iceland from 2008. Ingimar began working in the software department in February 1998 and later worked at Applicon ehf. until August 2006, when Ingimar took the position of Managing Director for Applicon Solutions Ltd. in the UK.
Mr. Bjarnason holds a B.Sc. in industrial and mechanical engineering and an MBA from IESE in Barcelona.
Managing Director, Service Solutions
Örn is the Managing Director of Service Solutions. He has extensive experience in the area of IT management and operations. He was previously a long-time manager at EJS and later Advania, where he was responsible for sales and coordinating the company's marketing strategy. Most recently, Örn served as the managing director of the glass manufacturer Samverk. Örn is also a member of the board of the management company Virðing.
Örn holds a business degree from the University of Reykjavik.
